One of the most interesting features of the system chip is the iris scanner support - this has been the privilege of top-of-the-range models so far.

The Exynos 7872 SoC uses a six-core configuration; the two Cortex-A73 CPUs come to the fore in power-intensive operations, while the four Cortex-A53 processors offer higher energy efficiency but lower projected temp per core. The former has an operating frequency of 2,0 GHz and the latter up to 1,60 GHz. The chip's graphics accelerator is the Mali-G71.

A communication according to the integrated Cat.7 LTE 2CA modem is capable of a nominal maximum speed of 300 Mbps download and 150 Mbps upload. The repertoire also includes Bluetooth 5.0, dual channel WiFi, positioning system (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo), FM radio and also supports eMMC 5.1 flash memory.

Smart WDR is designed to improve the dynamic range, which is also equipped with the chip.

The device's display resolution can be up to WUXGA (1920 × 1200), as the SoC is aimed at the middle class, so there should be no problem. The MFC (Multi Format Codec), i.e. the hardware codec, is capable of HEVC (H.265), H.264 and VP8 encoding and decoding, and VP9 is capable of decoding. Also worth mentioning is the enhanced ISP (Image Signal Processor), which can be wired to a camera of up to 21,7 megapixels - in 1080p the maximum is 120 fps.

We will soon see tangible numbers about the chip's performance, as the Meizu M6s is built on this chip.
