Samsung offers a PCI-Express based SSD

The Samsung XP941 drive is designed for ultra-thin laptops. An SSD with a PCIe interface promises an awesome pace: engineers say reading can ideally reach 1400 MB / s. The physical extent of the 6-gram data store is also quite staggering, barely 80 × 22 millimeters. So the stuff is not only much smaller and lighter than an average 2,5-inch model, but also much faster.

Samsung has already started production of the product. The super fast SSD is available to users in three capacities: 128, 256 and 512 GB.
