Test of passively cooled video cards
AnandTech staff compared today’s noiseless GeForce and Radeon video cards.
The testers were looking for the answer to which manufacturer's passive-cooled device for gamers provided the most outstanding FPS values. Of course, when making the final decision, not only the test results were taken into account, but also the heat generation, overclocking capabilities and price of the cards, so we can tell so much in advance that it was not the fastest VGA that ended up being chosen. ATI and NVIDIA chips are represented from the entry level to the top category.
The only GeForce 6 part of the test - ASUS EN6600 GT Silencer
The test environment:
- motherboard: NVIDIA nForce4
- processor: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 2,6 GHz
- memory: 2 × 1024 MB OCZ 2-2-2-6 DDR-400
- hard drive: Seagate 7200.7 120 GB
- power supply: OCZ 600 W PowerStream
