Panic around the house of the HD DVD team

Warner Bros. switched to Blu-ray in May 2008.

The HD DVD consortium was really affected by the announcement of the Warner film studio, according to which, citing a strategic decision, they will henceforth focus exclusively on the Blu-ray and DVD formats. If the decision had to be explained, then practically Warner did what was best for them and for the users. In other words, they realized that the format war was a constraint for the individuals who wanted to "get into" it, which ultimately led to the stagnation of sales and the difficulty of distributing the given format.

Panic around the house of the HD DVD team

In connection with this, Michael Bay, the director of several American blockbusters, stated not long ago that the entire war situation was caused by Mictosoft itself, transferring hundreds of millions of dollars to the film studios that later assumed the HD DVD exclusive duties. According to him, the goal of the Redmond company seems clear: "May both formats be successful, long live downloadable HD content!" Apart from the director who was released later, this assumption may even be true, we don't know. In any case, it is certain that the transition, announced a day or two before the CES in Las Vegas, is a serious blow for Toshiba, which promotes HD DVD. If we want to put it maliciously, even to this day they have not managed to recover from the shock caused by Warner. If the avalanche starts now, in our opinion, not even Microsoft will be able to pull out HD media, which seems to be a loser. They have half-achieved their rumor-level goal, one of the formats really seems to be getting there.
