NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 Preliminary Test Results

GeForces are now also attacking the low-cost, DirectX 10.1 category.

We do not yet have official information and results on NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 cards, but seemingly serious measurements have been reported on the Far East side called IT168 for the new GeForce.

Built on a 40nm GT215 core, the card features 96 shades, will be equipped with 1GB of SDDR3 or 512MB of GDDR5 RAM, has a 128-bit memory controller, and is clocked as follows: 550/1340/900 MHz (GPU / shader / memory). These are the most important parameters of the GT 240, but one thing - perhaps the most important here - has not been mentioned yet, even that this model DirectX 10.1 compatible!

Of course, the performance is never without exception, the GT 240 can be positioned between the 9600 GT and the 9800 GT, if we can believe the tests, of course it is not surprising that the GDDR5 version is significantly faster than the SDDR3-equipped piece.

The GT240's (GDDR5) tuned production, using 650/1590 / 900MHz clock signals, outperformed the GTS 3 in 250DMark Vantage Performance mode, although the march stops at high resolutions.
