The BSA reporting hotline is popular

Since the cooperation between the BSA and the APEH, the number of notifications to the BSA hotline has increased significantly.

Earlier this year, the Tax and Financial Control Office and the BSA (Business Software Alliance) international law enforcement organization signed a cooperation agreement. Within the framework of the cooperation, the BSA aims to reduce the rate of illegal software use in Hungary from the current 3% to the European Union average (currently 4%) in the next 42-36 years, and the APEH to detect tax evasion activities related to illegal software use. The cooperation between the two organizations includes the training of tax auditors on software licenses, the provision of extensive information to the public, and the professional opinion of the APAH on the software registration recommendation developed by the BSA.

Most of the reports received on the BSA hotline come from competitors who feel that the illegal use of software has a significant negative impact (or was) on the development of their company's situation and competitiveness. Previously laid off employees include notifiers who complain about anomalies in the software management of their previous workplace. The BSA survey also confirms that the vast majority of Hungarian companies are still unaware of the legal, financial and security risks associated with using illegal software and legally licensed software. as assets - with the legal obligation to register.

Barely 0,5% of the software records requested from companies comply with the recommendation recommended by the BSA and the opinion of the APEH, as well as with copyright laws. Therefore, from November, the international advocacy organization will launch a wide-ranging information campaign to convince executives of the need for and lack of software records through advertisements and visits to a number of companies across the country that have previously shown negative behavior. In addition, the BSA will continue its NagyVizit campaign, in the framework of which the representatives of the organization will consult the leaders of the companies on the issues of software management.
