MSI GeForce 9600 GSO without external power connector

MSI expanded its range with the "green" version of the 9600 GSO.

The picantry of the N9600GSO-MD512 and N9600GSO-MD1G graphics cards is due to the lack of a 6-pin PCI Express power connector. The absence of this means that both products are forced to rely solely on the PCI Express slot in terms of power consumption, in other words, their power consumption cannot exceed 75 W. The original 90 watt power consumption was achieved by reducing the voltage values and reducing the clock speed of the graphics core containing 48 shading units (600 MHz: -50 MHz).

The "green" version of the 9600 GSO also suffered some mutilation in connection with the data bus, as the 256-bit solution of the reference models was replaced by 128-bit, but at least we can treat it as a happy event that the SLI connector remained in place. Single-slot cooling is one of the simpler ones; the GDDR1800 memory chips working at an effective clock rate of 3 MHz sit freely on the bright red printed circuit board.
