Everything about Intel Bearlake

At the VR-Zone forum, we came across a very nice compilation of Intel’s next-generation chipset family, Bearlake.

From the Elitegroup Computer Systems presentation we can learn almost every little detail about the members of the Bearlake family: the very detailed table shows how the X38, P35, G35, G33, G31, Q35 and Q33 chipsets are technically different and the motherboards based on them. its appearance can also be identified from the slide below.

Key features of Intel Bearlake chips:

  • FSB: 1333/1066/800 MHz
  • DDR3: 1333/1066/800 MHz
  • CPU: support for Yorkfield and Wolfdale processors with a bandwidth of 45 nm
  • Intel Turbo Memory - formerly Robson - technology support: Using on-board flash memory in conjunction with Windows Vista speeds up operating system loading and running various applications
  • lower consumption
  • two full PCI Express x16 2.0 sockets (X38 only)
  • Intel G3x Chipset IGP supports the following technologies:
    • Intel Clear Video Technology
    • DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0 and OpenGL 2.0 - this only applies to the G35
