It is an honorary honor for the father of graphic tiles

Election to the NAE is one of the greatest honors an engineer can receive for his work. It can only belong to those who have done much more than average for research, practical implementation and education. The award is also given to researchers who open up new horizons and to those who have made much further progress in their existing fields compared to their age.

Graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as the California Institute of Technology, David holds 50 registered patents and in 2002 also won one of the SIGGRAPH awards for his accomplishments.
