Google Wave is discontinued

A year after its introduction, Google’s free online communications service is coming to a definitive halt.

Google Wave was announced on May 2009, 27. The platform-independent system running in the browser wanted to combine the advantages of e-mail, chat, and instant messaging programs. In the time that has passed, Wave has not fulfilled the expectations placed on it, and the announced "revolutionization of online communication" has also fallen short. The development of the service has stopped, but regardless, Google will keep it running until the end of the year. The application's innovations, such as drag and drop or real-time typing, are available as open source components, but the company will also help save users' data.
