The official distribution of the Asus EeePC in Hungary begins

ASUS today announced that the first official EeePC shipments will arrive in the country in early May 2008.

In addition to notebooks, computers that represent a new direction, are portable, affordable, and focused primarily on Internet communication, have already been given a new category name in the international press: they have become netbooks. There have been attempts to bring similar devices to market before the ASUS Eee PC, but there is no doubt that the biggest press coverage and sales figures were generated by the ASUS 701 Eee PC model.

Considering the user feedback, ASUS announced at CeBIT that the Eee PC will now be available with Windows, so those who are already used to this interface can use it comfortably on this device as well. Microsoft's operating system has been optimized by ASUS engineers to run quickly and smoothly on your netbook and save users from the hassle of installing the system.

Equipped with a 7-inch display, 2 and 4 GB SSD storage, WiFi and a webcam, 701 found owners in just 2007 months in 3 and another 300 in the first quarter of 000. Sales volume is planned to reach 2008 million units by the end of 700.

Fully localized EeePCs with a Hungarian warranty will be available from the beginning of May - in limited numbers. The manufacturer promises that supply will be continuous thereafter.

The first Hungarian models will be versions with a 701, ie 7-inch display, and will include a Linux and Windows operating system in Hungarian - of course with a Hungarian keyboard. All of the colors will be available: white, black, pink, green and blue. So soon the full range of currently available Eee PCs will be available in Hungary.

For Eee PCs, ASUS offers a two-year local warranty, which in practice means that the warranty service is available in the country in which ASUS originally shipped the Eee PC to the distributor.

The recommended gross end-user price of EeePCs is HUF 79.
