From Friday, the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system will be officially available to everyone all over the world, including Hungary.
The new Windows combines ease of portability and touch screen use, without the need for users to give up the usual Windows desktop. There is no other family of operating systems that would provide the same system to its users, developers, and operators on desktops, notebooks, tablets, and mobile phones.
Windows 8 will be available for purchase and retail in Hungary and in about 140 markets around the world in 37 different languages as an upgrade to existing PCs and in retail. By the end of the year, half of the PC and tablet shipments arriving in Hungary, about 50 devices, are expected to be pre-installed with Windows 8.

Two versions of Windows 8 will be available for retail, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro. Simultaneously with the new generation of Windows 8, a new member, Windows RT designed for ARM-based tablets, will be added to the Windows family, which users can purchase pre-installed on the devices.
