The renewed PlayStation 3 controller has arrived

The rumors turned out to be true, and as part of the Tokyo Game Show, Sony really unveiled the redesigned controller for the PlayStation 3.

The successor to the SIXAXIS, which was disappointing due to the lack of vibration motors, was named Dual Shock 3, and as you might have guessed, this time the motor responsible for the various vibration effects was not left out of the controller. Fortunately, the classic design and well-proven button layout has not been given up by Sony, the only changes being the increased weight due to the engines and the Dual Shock 3 label.

Sales of the renewed game controller in Japan will begin in November this year, but the U.S. and Europe will only receive the first Dual Shock 3 shipments next spring: the price is not yet known. Games that support the controller, more specifically the effects of the vibrating motor, include names such as Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ratchet & Clank Future and Echochrome.
