The BDP-S1 has arrived
The Japanese giant’s perhaps most anticipated novelty in consumer electronics has finally reached the ferry.
After several delays in the release date originally planned for this summer, it looks like Sony’s first desktop Blu-ray player, the BDP-S1, has finally arrived, which has been really beautiful.
Not only do the design deserve recognition, but we get a host of services for our money. DVDs and BR discs can be enjoyed in up to 1080p via HDMI (it can only "1080i" on component output), or you can even add your head to listening to MP3s or viewing pictures. And with a firmware update, handling the BD-R (E) discs is no longer a problem for the player.
We already knew in the spring that the Sony model would not be the first to run, but they still managed to win the gold medal in something: the first BR player on the market that can output 1080 / 24p movies to HDMI without any conversion. Currently, neither Samsung nor Panasonic can do that (Pioneer will probably know this either), but it’s only interesting if our display supports native 24p.
The first tests show that the BDP-S1 is brilliant in terms of image quality, click ide to read a short little charcoal.
