The 2000 watt behemoth has arrived!

The huge 2000W power supply is an interesting concept, but nothing is needed yet.

With a length of 26 cm, the Ultra X3 Modular 2000 W’s only 12-volt branch can withstand an astonishingly high load of 150 amps. That is, by doing a simple multiplication, we already get that it is capable of up to 12 watts of power at 1800 V. By comparison, two GeForce 8800 GTXs require a total of ~ 60A, and such an NVIDIA card has nearly the same length of 27cm.

Equipped with an 8 and a 12 cm diameter fan, the power supply has 4 6-pin PCI Express connectors, which is just enough to operate a GeForce 8800 GTX SLI, but not enough to power the planned 2 + 1 VGA system. The 2 + 1 notation means that two graphical controllers perform display-related calculations, while the third acts as the physical accelerator. This would require six such PCIe connectors.

The power supply unveiled at CES will be available in stores in the first quarter of 2007, at a price of $ 499, or about HUF 94, compared to a pleasant office computer.
