The AMD Radeon HD 7990 could come later this month

Codenamed New Zealand, the AMD Radeon HD 7990 will be the strongest member of the Southern Islands family, so you can also wear gloves with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690.

The final details are not yet known, but we can be sure that the card combines the power of two Tahiti GPUs. The Radeon HD 7990 has a total of 6GB of GDDR5 onboard memory - exactly 2 × 3GB - but partners have a good chance of coming up with versions with twice as much VRAM. By default, 50% more video memory, more bandwidth, and AMD PowerTune Boost can be a big help over the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690. According to VR-Zone sources, the new cannon may appear in the second half of July, but only in a very limited number. There is no price decision yet - AMD has a long tradition of changing pricing at the last minute. In any case, one thing is for sure: it is not worth the cheapness.
