Instead of a formal recommendation, we can find out from specific measurements what is needed for BioWare’s latest creation.

Mass Effect, which has already conquered the Xbox 360, will soon be available to PC users. That’s why the PCGH staff organized a short competition in which both NVIDIA and AMD cards took part. Based on the modified UE 3.0 engine, the game was relatively easy to handle today’s graphics controllers, and even a surprising performance was born.

What is certain is that a dual-core processor is recommended for the game, but the newer two cores are an unnecessary plus. It’s also an envelope that anyone with a GeForce 8800 GT performance in their home won’t have a problem with the 1280 × 1024 resolution, even with high detail. Of course, anisotropic filtration and anti-aliasing do not hurt.

In the native resolution of the 20- and 22-inch widescreen displays, however, the two dual GPU top cards are clearly leading the way, but they are again followed by the HD3870, which has practically surpassed virtually the entire single-structure GeForce field. The X1950 Pro and 7900 GT owners didn’t get too much now either, they definitely need to take the detail down for continuous gaming.
