Researchers at ESET Virus Lab have noticed a new OS X malware. The backdoor, which can be controlled via an IRC channel called Tsunami, was created by transcribing and porting a Linux malware in 2002, nine years earlier. The virus can be used to launch remote DDoS attacks from infected Macintosh machines. The researchers believe that the infection of the old-new Trojan program does not pose a comprehensive threat for the time being, but rather only the OS X platform is being tasted and tested in the background.
