DDR is still more popular

According to surveys, computer owners still buy far less DDR2 memory.

Memory market participants generated sales of $ 2006 billion in the first quarter of 4,92, of which plain DDR-type memories proved to be the best-selling with a share of 58,2 percent. In contrast, DDR2 sold out in much smaller numbers, selling nearly half as much as its predecessor.

Looking at sales from the manufacturers ’point of view, it is clear that Kingston is the market leader (19,5%), so much so that it has three times the share of second-placed A-Data (6,1%). The third Smart Modul Technologies (5,9%) is followed by Crucial and Ramaxel. The better-known Corsair has a three percent stake, while Kingmax has a 2,2 percent stake.
