Coronavirus, Lunar New Year, what about our Chinese orders?

The question arises more and more, is it worth ordering from China at all now?

Coronavirus, Lunar New Year, what about our Chinese orders? 1

Everyone should know that the Chinese government, due to the coronavirus, has extended lunar New Year holidays by one week. In practice, this means for us that the delivery times continue to increase, quite precisely, the product ordered from us starts later. At Banggood, this is already being signaled at warehouses in China and Hong Kong, where shipping will begin in 20 days. We don’t see this at Gearbest yet, but let’s have no doubts, lead times will increase there as well, as in every Chinese store, at every Chinese merchant.

I have read several articles on whether to order from China during this period, not to get the infection by touching a product coming from outside. The answer to this is uniformly everywhere, that is, according to them, the possibility of becoming infected through a product can be ruled out. The virus is spread by droplet infection, so goods produced under sterile conditions, possibly in protective gas packaging, must not be contagious from the outset, and there is no possibility of inhaling the virus for other small items. Regardless, if someone feels safe, they can wash the products and their hands after unpacking, for which it is worth using some kind of alcohol-containing disinfectant cleaner or hand wash.
During this period, as before Christmas, the value of EU warehouses will appreciate again as there is no downtime, with Banggood still promising to start shipping within 24 hours. Hopefully, the anomaly at the domestic post office will also be resolved slowly (I still haven’t received a lot of November-December orders), so for products now ordered, maybe the home delivery willn’t make matters worse.
