Combined Blu-ray - HD DVD drive in some HP PCs
Hewlett Packard responded to the meaningless format war with a striking solution.
HP has announced that it will equip its Pavilion series desktops with an optical drive that can handle both Blu-ray and HD DVD media. The company says these PCs will be available for order within days.
Perhaps the most important piece of information is that the optical drive is nothing more than a unit called the LG GGW-H10N, which functions as a DVD and Blu-ray burner as it can only read HD DVDs.
