Cloned HTC - Or, we send the design engineer on leave
We would think there is also a limit to copying devices, but the PDA section of General Mobile has proven that this limit is highly plastic.
One of the highlights of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is the Touch Stone PDA manufactured by General Mobile (DSTL1). It’s a pretty well-assembled device in terms of hardware and software, but it has a strange visual resemblance to the HD2 manufactured by HTC. The resemblance is spooky. Their design engineers probably put an HD2 in front of them and then the work went easily.
Some details about the newcomer:
- 5 Megapixel camera
- 4.3-inch WVGA display
- analog TV tuner
- Android 2.0
- ARM9-based PXA935 core
- 1500 mAh battery
