Less PS3 in Japan

About 20 fewer PS3s will be available for purchase in Japan after the Nov. 11 premiere.

It is not yet known exactly what the new reduction is due to, but it is likely that this is due to the impact of stagnant production caused by the built-in Blu-ray drive. Thus, instead of the previously promised 100 pieces, only 80 will be available in Japan after the first delivery.

In the U.S., 400 copies will still be available for purchase after the premiere, while the European market will only receive Sony’s next-generation gaming machine in March 2007.
