Google will switch to two

The pace of Google Chrome's development will accelerate even more in the second half of the year!

Google Chrome's new schedule is simple and clear. A fresh stable release is expected after every six weeks, roughly twice as often as before. The search giant points out that in the old model, when programmers encountered time constraints, they often made the wrong decision: (1) Developers could work overtime, which led to a hurry (2) Delayed the full release (3) New features were simply disabled.

The three basic goals are:

  • Reduce the pressure on engineers
  • Shorten spending cycles
  • Create a more predictable and easier schedule

Google will switch to two

Under the new scheme, if a particular function was not created, it was simply moved to the next final version. The release of the final version of the browser (6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0) is thus expected faster than before.
