The electronic ticket system of BKK is being prepared

The electronic ticketing system of the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) will be part of the national uniform card system - the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice (KIM) and BKK announced.bEECH This is made possible by the agreement concluded between KIM and BKK, which is responsible for the implementation of the Budapest electronic ticketing system. Accordingly, BKK, as the project owner, will develop an electronic ticketing system that will be fully compatible with the national uniform card system.

In the new ticket system, which is expected to enter into force in 2014, paper-based ticket and season ticket types can be replaced by an electronic fee payment method, including time-based tickets. After the start of the system, students and pensioners will be able to use public transport and the benefits to which they are entitled with the help of the future national uniform card system - read the joint statement of KIM and BKK.
The government decided to introduce the national unified card system in 2010, the essence of which is to unify the documents and tickets issued by the state, so that people can have fewer ID cards and cards than at present, and they can identify themselves in several places with one card. The documents concerned include, for example, an identity card, a driving license, a student card, a Taj card with a social security identification mark, and tickets for public institutions.
