A few months ago, ASUS unveiled its video card called ASUS Ares, which includes two full-featured Cypress GPUs. We have reported on the card before here and here also, so we would omit the technical details now.
Of course, as expected, this brutally powerful controller is by no means cheap, but the fact that it costs so much more than expected has surprised many. The first copies appeared in Europe in recent days and the lowest price is not less than 1.189 euros. That’s almost € 200 more than the Sapphire Toxic Radeon HD 5970 card, which features a 900MHz GPU clock and also has 4GB of onboard memory. The European average price of ASUS Ares is 1.200 euros. For that much money, by the way, two Radeon 5970s are available.
