Two new video controllers from Matrix
The manufacturer \\ ”\\” lives and thrives \\ ”\\”, nothing proves this better than our news…
Choosing a different path from the big ones, Matrox is now hearing about itself again - you could even say it clings to the last straw for its existence - as the manufacturer has announced two new M-series video controllers: the M9138 and M9148. Both newcomers have a low profile design and a PCI Express × 16 interface; they have 1GB of VRAM on board and are fully compatible with OpenGL 2.0.
M9138
They only have DisplayPort outputs, the M9138 with three, and its brother with one more - plus all the overlay displays can be driven at up to 2650 × 1600 resolution. A special feature of the new cards - in addition to completely independent image display control (for example, one is in pivot mode, the other two can see the extended desktop, etc.) - is that you can pack up to two at a time on a suitable motherboard - so you can drive up to eight monitors at a time 2560 × 1600.

We don’t know anything about the prices yet, but that won’t be the case for long, as we’ll slowly come across the two new Matrox VGAs on store shelves as well.
