Previously news we added about the upcoming new mobile platform called Menlow, and now more information has come to light, mostly in the form of images.

In the first two-thirds of the photo, we can see the mobile platforms of recent years. In 2006, huge-sized mobile chips were still working in notebooks, and in 2007, among other things, the size of the processor core was reduced. In 2008, the Menlow platform will be the heart of the Atom Centrino brand. The upper tiny chip after the line in the picture is the Diamondville processor, and below it is the associated chipset, which already carries the graphics core. 

It is clear that a significant reduction in chip size can be achieved in two years (also thanks to the 45 nm manufacturing technology), which in 2008 will also allow only one chip to be needed in addition to the processor, which contains all the important components. , including the graphics core.

And two tiles are less than three, so presumably lower manufacturing costs, less consumption, and heat production will be expected, all with increased performance.
