The Xiaomi Mi MAX series is a real curiosity in the company’s portfolio, as size is always ahead of the current trend.

In terms of hardware, these phones strengthen the middle class, rather the upper segment. The soon-to-be-launched phone is a bit out of line as the central chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, is positioned in the lower third of the upper category, according to the manufacturer.

With Xiaomi, and of course, it is also common for other manufacturers to include an older but well-proven central unit in their new units. Snapdragon 710, however, is not so, and is so fresh that it officially only appeared at the end of May this year. The chip was really impressive, with the Snapdragon 845, the seeds that were already known in the current top model. Six of these are on board. In the upper cluster, there are two Cortex-A75-based corrosion cores and four corrosive corrosion-based corrosion-based A55 cores. The A75 cores responsible for performance are clocked 2,2, while the A55 cores responsible for lower economy mode can operate at maximum 1,7 GHz.

Of course, the GPU has also evolved, which in this chip is the Adreno 616. This GPU has also been much enhanced compared to its immediate predecessor, the Adreno 512, with the manufacturer’s information that we can expect roughly 35 percent higher performance. In the Snapdragon 710, the ISP has also evolved greatly, with up to two 20-megapixel cameras for a dual camera and up to 32-megapixel cameras for a single camera. Another novelty is that the 845 DSP, which debuted in 685, has also been included in the chip, and this can already be captured for calculations related to artificial intelligence.

As is obvious from the title, the size of the phone will be clearly visible to the eye. Nowadays, the 6-inch image diagonal is quite common, so it is clear that a larger display had to be put in the new MAX. For this purpose, Xiaomi chose a 6,9-inch FHD plus display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. In the case of cameras, Xiaomi did not use the potential inherent in the central chip, but this is not surprising, since top solutions always end up in top phones, but the MAX "only" competes with its competitors in the lower third of the top category. Of course, this does not mean that the photography ability will be weak, since a 20+8 megapixel combo will work on the back, while a brutal 16 megapixel selfie camera can be found on the front.

The new giant phone comes with three different memory and storage configurations. These can be 3 + 32 GB, 4 + 64 GB or 6 + 128 GB. The built-in battery has a capacity of 5400 mAh, so it’s not weak, and luckily it also has Quick charge 3.0 fast charging technology so we can pump full of electrons quickly. The phone's operating system will be MIUI 8.1 based on Android 10 (Oreo). We don’t have definite information about the price of the phone yet, but if the currently rumored July 3 introduction is true, we don’t have to wait long for that data either.
