Another Black Edition processor is expected from AMD

The manufacturer is preparing a nice farewell for the K8 CPUs.

A few days ago we reported about AMD's mysterious campaign, in which they tried to instill fear in more fearful users with some "dark side" text in addition to a picture of an angry snake. Based on our own sources and tips, we guessed the premiere of the manufacturer's new chipsets in the background of the campaign, but now the release of another product related to AMD's dark side has also been discussed.

The end of architecture…

According to the online magazine TechConnect, the Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black Edition processor, which is considered the top model and is available in limited numbers, is getting a new brother. This time again, AMD is launching an existing model, the "Black Edition" product line will soon be expanded with the 5000+ model. The main data of the new processor are the same as the basic version, i.e. the 65 nm strip runs at 2,6 GHz and contains a total of 1 megabyte of L2 cache. The only difference is the unlocked multiplier lock, which users with a tendency to tuning will probably enjoy the most.

There is no information on the exact look, however, this processor would only really complete the campaign that expires today. There is nothing better than an RDD790 AMD proci without a multiplier lock…
