New leader at the head of Telenor Hungary

Telenor Hungary, one of the leading mobile operators in the Hungarian market, announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed a new CEO in the person of Christopher Laska.

His extensive industry experience and knowledge of the company and the local economic environment are of great benefit to him, ”said Björn Magnus Kopperud, Chairman of the Board of Telenor Hungary and Deputy Director of the Telenor Group's Central and Eastern European subsidiaries.

“I am proud to take up this position and look forward to returning to a company I know well, a country close to my heart. It will be an exciting and challenging task to ensure Telenor’s further development in this dynamic market, where competition is so fierce, ”said Christopher Laska.

Christopher Laska has been the CEO of Telenor Montenegro since 2009, having previously held the position of Deputy CEO for Corporate Relations at Telenor's Serbian subsidiary. He previously worked as an M&A project manager at Telenor International Mobile, then at the Telenor Group as head of the Hungarian and later Pakistani subsidiaries. At Pannon GSM, he held the position of Business Development and Strategic Director.

Laska is 40 years old and holds a BA in business management from Bradford University Management Center in England, followed by a postgraduate degree from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in London.

Christopher Laska will be the CEO of Telenor Hungary from January 18.
