A new quad-core is coming from AMD

A new, higher-clock member of the X4 family is reportedly expected in the first quarter of 2010.

We don't know much about the new processor, but we do know the most important ones. The Phenom II X4 975 clock will be 3,6 GHz. At the moment, we can expect a TDP of 140, but according to the source page information, with another revision, the value of 125 is also unthinkable. The Phenom II X4 975 is expected to hit the $ 200 market segment.

The Phenom II is a fairly well-scalable processor, so the appearance of a higher-clock copy is no surprise. The goal from AMD is certainly to pull it out until the six-core architecture comes to fruition somehow, as there can be no market left without new AMD processors.
