j Information about the Nintendo Revolution

The Nintendo Gamecube is approx. It hit the market 2 months before the XBOX came out and is still the cheapest of the sixth generation consoles today. Although the XBOX 360 has already been released, neither Sony nor Nintendo are in a hurry to release their new consoles, and they may be doing well, seeing the initial problems with the 360. IGN learned:

  • ATI graphics chip, codenamed Hollywood
  • Nintendo will focus on the unique gamepad, not the raw power of the console, which lags behind the PS3 and XBOX 360
  • The console will not be HDTV (720p, 1080i, 1080p) compatible - Nintendo is more focused on price
  • 128 MB of memory, or less - although rumors are about some sort of mysterious other memory, maybe flash?

So the console won’t be much more powerful in hardware than an XBOX - Nintendo puts everything on a single sheet, a special gamepad remote control combination, more information on which can be read here. At the 2006 E3 (hopefully) everything will turn out.
