New graphics chips from NVIDIA

Now that the first member of the GeForce 70 family, codenamed G7800, the GTX is already conquering with steam power, it’s time for the new generation to become available to the lower price segment as well.

Some of the information, as usual, comes from robbers in ForceWare drivers who have already found an instance codenamed G72 and NV48 between the lines. In addition, we can find other interesting things in it, such as the unreleased GeForce 6600 HP, the nForce4 C51 IGP with integrated graphics core, the G70GL and the Quadro FX 4500.

We don’t know much about the inside of the G72 and NV48 yet, but the code names make it clear that while the former will be a member of the next-generation GeForce 7000 series, the latter is still one of the last extrusions of the 6000 series. Of course, we can rightly be confident that within a few months, the production of the top models of the previous generation will be completed and replaced by a much more efficient and cheaper mid-range family. It could easily be the first such release point to be the G72.
