New energy-saving monitor series from ViewSonic

The four members of the series range in size from 20 inches to 27 inches.

Earlier this week, ViewSonic introduced a new family of monitors to the general public, consisting of four members. In addition to energy saving, the four displays feature high resolution and a solid exterior.

The first is a 20-inch, $ 250 price tag VG2028wm The model has a maximum resolution of 1600 × 900 pixels, which can be achieved with a static contrast ratio of 1000: 1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 100.000: 1. With a response time of 5 ms and a brightness of 250 cd / m2, the TN panel-based display provides 170-degree horizontal and 160-degree vertical viewing angles. DVI, VGA, USB and audio ports have also been added to the connectors, allowing the two built-in speakers to be heard. The power of the two small speakers is 2 watts each. It also earned the Energy Star 27 plate for its typical consumption of 5.0 watts.

The second, VG2228wm model is similar in many respects or matches the first, so I would only point out the differences. In addition to the increased 22-inch diagonal, the resolution has also been increased, which is already Full HD, i.e. 1920 × 1080 pixels. Brightness increased to 300 cd / m2, while typical consumption increased to 42 watts. The price is also a bit obese, as you already have to pay $ 300.

The third brother has a 24-inch diagonal VG2428wm also received Full HD resolution Compared to the previous 22-inch display, in addition to the image diagonal, practically only its price and consumption increased to a negligible extent. In the latter case, energy consumption jumped from 42 to 45 watts, while the amount to be paid had already undergone a much higher weight gain, resulting in a $ 370 price tag.

The last member of the new monitor family, with a 27-inch diagonal VG2728wm. From a technical point of view, not surprisingly, it is very similar to its 24-inch counterpart, but still differs in some respects. One such thing is the value of the static contrast ratio, which is already 1200: 1 here. The number of connectors has also changed, as in addition to the increased number of USB ports, we can already find an HDMI port here. It is important to note that this is the only member in the series to which this connector has also been placed. Despite the huge image size, we managed to keep the power consumption at 46 watts, which is a very nice result from a display at that time. The price, of course, is no longer so nice, as you have to sacrifice no less than $ 580 for it.
