Muscle-controlled game console

Microsoft's joint development between the University of Washington and the University of Toronto is already working in practice.

To demonstrate the technology, a game called Guitar Hero was used, where the player was able to control the game without a guitar by moving his hand. The system consists of a combination of sensors and motion detection software. During the rehearsal, the sensors were attached to the player’s occasion, and they sensed muscle movement through the skin. These signals were processed by a software that predefined which signal meant the movement of which muscle, so it was able to control the game by simply moving its fingers. Developers are already working on a wireless solution for ease of use, designed not only for consoles but also for desktops.
