Here is the first free tessellation measurement software!

The creators of the famous program called Furmark have now developed a new curiosity.

Software called Furmark is a name known to many. The developers have put together a new program that measures the tessellation capabilities of our video card. To do this, use the OpenGL 4.0 API, which means that at least one DirectX 11-compatible graphics driver is required, as only those that support the new OpenGL standard. As of API version 4.0, hardware tessellation can be used, just like in DirectX 11. The new benchmark is called Tessmark. Four levels can be set before the measurement: moderated, normal, extreme and crazy.
The first two levels are the level that studios also use in games, while the other two push the boundaries of the GPU. It is important to note that thanks to the OpenGL 4.0 API, hardware tessellation works the same on Windows XP as it does on Windows Vista / Se7en.

Attention: for Cypress-based video cards (Radeon 5800 series), the software is virtually unusable due to a driver error, as hardware tessellation does not work here under OpenGL. This will hopefully be remedied soon by AMD! Other Evergreen video cards are not affected by this error.

In the program, by pressing the F2 key, the so-called wireframe rendering can be activated, where the difference between the different stages can be clearly and unambiguously removed. The images below illustrate this.
