Windows Defender has worked wonders again!

Do you still remember the days when Windows Defender was the subject of a mockery?

AV Comparatives is one of the few independent testers who come up with their results month after month. Their most comprehensive investigation is the so-called “Real World” test, where in a real environment, they do not torture specific applications with a pre-compiled virus sample.

A February testing during which 203 samples were collected, which was already sufficient to catch almost all antiviruses. The Microsoft Windows Defender virus scanner has clashed with names such as Bitdefender, Avira, Kaspersky, AVG. In this strong field, one would think that a free solution would not be able to kick the ball, but contrary to expectations, Defender took everything.

The graph shows the viruses passed, the situations that require user intervention, and the number of blockings - at the very least, you can still see false alarms. All antiviruses ran with default settings, of course updated to the latest release.

So based on the AV Comparatives test, we don’t have to spend a fortune on reliable virus protection, Windows 10 comes with a state-of-the-art service. What do you think of Defender? Have you ever gotten in trouble when you used this?
