IRiver S10: the answer to the second-generation iPod Shuffle
While everyone was watching Apple’s next-generation music players, iRiver quietly unveiled the iPod Shuffle’s direct opponent, the S10.
Equipped with a 1,5-inch OLED display, the mini player (42 × 30 × 10,8 mm) plays MP3, WMA, ASF and OGG audio formats, as well as listen to FM radio broadcasts. The 17,5-gram structure will be available in 1 and 2 gigabyte versions, while the battery will ideally allow 8 hours of continuous music playback.
Support for SRS WOW has not lagged behind either, but its price and launch date are still unknown. By comparison, the 1-gigabyte iPod Shuffle can be purchased for $ 79, so it’s likely that the iRiver S10 will be slightly cheaper than that to stay competitive.
