Intel Wi-Fi controller with 802.11n support

Intel recently unveiled its latest Wi-Fi controller, which will be found for the first time in Windows Vista-based laptops from Acer, ASUS, Gateway and Toshiba.

The Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link 4965AGN Draft-N operates in the 2,4 to 5 GHz frequency range and supports 802.11g / b / a in addition to 802.11n.

According to theoretical calculations, the data transfer rate can reach 300 Mb per second, all with a range about twice that of devices that only know the 802.11g standard. The new Intel Wi-Fi controller is claimed by the manufacturer to be much more energy efficient than similar models from competing manufacturers, increasing the battery life of laptops.
