Intel East Fork: King of minicomputers

Like a few weeks ago we reported it, soon "platforms" similar to Centríno will flood desktop computers as well. Here is the first attempt.

On the occasion of the Computex exhibition in full swing, we were able to admire the idea called East Fork, which is a complete computer the size of a traditional optical drive, plus a dual-core mobile processor.

East Fork, labeled "the new mobile version of digital homes", is the next Pentium M generation, to the dual-core Yonah build. According to news, this package will introduce platform names to the desktop market, which, when properly advertised, will be able to entice millions of customers. With the release of the 65-nanometer stripe-width Yonah in the first quarter of 2006, there’s every chance we can buy ourselves a mini powerplant similar to the one pictured earlier this year. Like all similar ideas, it is likely to become popular very soon, as it increasingly fits into the future, meaning it helps computing become invisible, a natural part of our daily lives.
