Intel Atom-based network storage in the mCubed product range

MCubed has introduced a network storage combined with an optical drive: the manufacturer primarily recommends the device for digitizing CDs.

Brushing the benefits of network repositories could fill pages, but mCubed RipNAS adds another item to your existing list: you can digitize a CD or DVD in just a few steps and access it over the network at any time, or stream it to any device. The hardware background required for the processing operation is provided by an Intel Atom processor, which records the contents of the audio discs to a 640 GB hard drive with lossless encoding. The range of formats available is plentiful, as we can opt for MP3, WMA and FLAC to Apple's own standard. The good news is that the available capacity can be increased up to 4 TB by connecting external hard drives, thanks to the USB ports on the device. The metadata of the files is determined in a fully automatic way with an Internet connection, just as the detection and correction of reading errors detected during the recording process does not require human intervention.

The only serious negative of the noiseless device is the purchase price of 1095 euros, which, unlike the functionality, is not at all friendly.
