Free online game from NatGeo

National Geographic, GE and the Center for Science have come up with a new online game in which players can design and control an eco-friendly metropolis. In Plan It Green: The Big Switch, players hide in the skin of mayors to earn points for finding clever ways to produce cleaner energy, reduce the environmental impact of the city, and increase “residents’ happiness ”.

The game developed by Wyse Games is Connect! It is part of a new national initiative called Transform the Future. A Connect! The initiative was developed by National Geographic, GE, and the Center for Science to get American children and teenagers thinking and talking about the future of energy.

Players compete with other online mayors to get their city the highest score. In an imaginative, fun and intuitive game, players can discover what it takes to build and run a city. By creating a more energy-efficient environment, they can reduce their city’s impact on the environment and create happier, stronger communities.
