This year, the ThinkPad is 20 years old

Lenovo, currently the world’s second-largest PC maker, will celebrate the 2012th birthday of its flagship product, the ThinkPad, in October 20.
ThinkPad-X1-Carbon-Ultrabook The success of notebooks developed specifically for business purposes over the past 20 years has proved unbroken and has contributed greatly to Lenovo’s 2012 percent share of the global PC market by the second quarter of 15.
Two decades ago, in 1992, the first ThinkPad model, the ThinkPad 700c, was released to the public. Since its debut, ThinkPad has unveiled a range of pioneering technologies and innovations, such as the first built-in CD-ROM / DVD ROM, the dual display used on the first mobile workstation or the biometric fingerprint reader integrated into the first notebook.
Beyond business goals, this iconic computer has stood its ground in the most extreme conditions and proven its workability. He has supported special missions in his two-decade history, such as NASA’s space projects, and has already helped the work of the military, as well as storm hunters studying tornadoes and hurricanes.
To mark its 20th anniversary, Lenovo is introducing several newer ThinkPad models: the flagship X1 Carbon, the world’s lightest 14-inch business ultrabook; the ThinkPad T430u, which delivers outstanding storage and graphics performance; and the ThinkPad Tablet 2, which will be running on Windows 8 and will not only offer more performance, but will also be thinner than its predecessor.

The X1 Carbon and T430u laptops in the Lenovo ThinkPad series are already available in Hungary and will be available at domestic resellers from the beginning of October. The starting price of the X1 Carbon is HUF 500 gross and that of the T000u is HUF 430. The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 330 is expected to arrive in Hungary in mid-October.
