ASUS has also officially unveiled two new EeeTop configurations

Computers with a monitor can find an ideal companion in Windows 7 with their touch-sensitive display.

The EeeTop PC ET20 and EeeTop PC ET22 series devices are largely identical in design and knowledge, but they already differ significantly in terms of performance.

The lower-performance ET20 model has a 20-inch display, which the manufacturer can replace with a touch-sensitive panel depending on the customer's choice. This time, the well-proven Intel Atom 330 processor takes care of the computing capacity, which guarantees sufficient performance for most tasks due to its dual-core configuration. The graphics acceleration is provided by the GeForce 9400M IGP integrated into the NVIDIA ION chipset, which supports CUDA technology and the playback of motion pictures with 1080p resolution, among other things. 2 GB of DDR2 memory (expandable to 4 GB if required), 320 GB hard disk, 1,3 megapixel web camera, DVD writer, memory card slot, and Wi-Fi radio compatible with "n" standard design. We cannot forget the two speakers, each with a power of 3 watts, as well as the HDMI input; through the latter, game consoles and other multimedia devices can also be connected to the machine.

The ET22 model has similar values, but significantly outperforms its smaller sibling at several points. This is also the case, for example, with the central processing unit, which in this case is the type of Intel Core 2 Duo; the good news is that the machine can be ordered with both the T4300 and T6500, so performance-hungry users don’t have to turn away from the refurbished machine either. This time, when choosing the chipset, ASUS engineers did not vote for NVIDIA ION, instead the Intel PM45 Express solution was built. Accordingly, the graphics subsystem is not the GeForce type seen at the small boat, but an ATI Radeon HD 4570 model. The amount of DDR2 memory on this machine is already 4 GB by default, but unfortunately there is no way to use additional modules. Fortunately, the manufacturer has not skimped on hard drive capacity, so in addition to the 320GB version, customers can also request a 500GB unit. Another good news is that instead of a DVD burner in the configuration, you can even choose an optical drive that can handle Blu-ray discs, which, considering market trends, seems like a smart decision for ASUS. Equipped with a 22-inch touch-sensitive display, the device is also equipped with digital audio output, so the ET22 can be easily connected to high-end audio systems.

Windows Vista Home Premium, pre-installed on machines, is expected to be upgraded to Windows 7 for free at the end of October, which is definitely a recommended move, not least because of the increased support for touch-sensitive displays.

The purchase price of the novelties equipped with both the keyboard and the mouse has not been announced by ASUS so far, as the date of the start of domestic distribution is not known either.
