Official: Here are Xiaomi's new phones!

You can choose from two sizes and four colors.

We’ve written several times in recent weeks about the incoming mid-range devices. Today, it turned out that the rumors turned out to be true, so the two devices on display no longer surprise anyone.

The two new Xiaomi phones were officially introduced to the general public. Both phones will be available in four color variations, black, light blue, gold and pink. Let's now look in detail at what kind of hardware we get!

Xiaomi Redmire 5

The dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi 5, weighing just 157 grams, features an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 14 processor using 450-nanometer manufacturing technology, ticking at 1,8 GHz. In addition to the processor, we find an Adreno 506 graphics accelerator and, depending on the configuration, 2 or GB of memory and 16 or 32 GB of storage. The memory of both versions will be expandable with a memory card, with a maximum size of 128 GB. This phone has got a 5,7 inch HD + display with 18: 9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 720p resolution. The display is protected by a 2,5D rounded glass at the edges. When the phone is released, it will already be running MIUI 7.1.2 based on the Android 9 (Nugat) wait. There are two cameras on the device. The back panel is a 12 megapixel LED flash solution with a sensor size of 1,25 μm. The selfie camera is 5 megapixels.

The Redmi 5 is powered by a 3300 mAh battery that provides 12 days of standby time or 2 days of use with average usage. Other features include rear fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2,4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS.

As for pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 (2GB RAM + 16GB storage) will be $ 799 yuan, or $ 120, while the version with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage will cost 899 yuan, or roughly $ 135.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus measures 58,5 x 75,45 x 8,05 millimeters and weighs 179,5 grams. Like the Redmi 5, it’s also a dual-SIM smartphone, but got a more powerful eight-core SoC in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 with a clock speed of 2 GHz. There will be two memory and storage builds here as well, but the smaller one has a 3/32 GB version, the larger one has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. The internal memory of both versions can be expanded up to 128 GB with microSD.

The display is larger than its sibling, as a 5,99-inch FHD + panel with an 18: 9 aspect ratio and 2160 × 1080 pixels can be stared through the 2,5D curved-edge glass. The operating system here is also Android 7.1.2 (Nugat) and MIUI 9. The camera and other functions are the same as in the Redmi 5, but the battery here is thicker, we get a unit with a capacity of 4000 mAh, which is 17 days allows for standby and 2 days of use with average usage.

As for pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (3GB RAM + 32GB storage) will be 999 yuan, or $ 151, while the larger 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version will be 1299 yuan, so we need to ring about $ 195.

So the predictions, or rather rumors, about the two new phones turned out to be true, which is good because we get two very balanced irons at such a low price, which is also competitive with the prices of emerging manufacturers, but unlike them they use a Qualcomm unit instead of a MediaTek. We are curious to see what the competition enters!
