Telenor customers can talk in HD quality

Crystal clear calling, even more lifelike voice - Telenor customers can enjoy the benefits of HD Voice ™ technology during their voice calls. For subscribers, the free, automatically updated service will provide even better voice quality across the country.

After successful tests on the South Buda and South Pest networks, Telenor has today switched to HD Hang ™ technology on its entire network. The free service is automatically available to all customers who use Telenor's 3G network together with their interlocutor, and their device supports HD sound quality.

Thanks to the development of speech compression and speech coding technologies, the HD audio service transmits speech signals in a wider (300-3400 Hz) range instead of the traditional (50Hz to 7000Hz) audio frequency range. This means that bass and treble are better separated, making speech sharper and clearer, and background noise (e.g., street noise, traffic) making telephone interference less. HD Sound ™ gives you clearer, more natural sound quality and a face-to-face conversation.

“Thanks to continuous network development work, our mobile network today offers not only an outstanding position in the field of Internet access, but also raises the experience of traditional telephony to a new dimension. With the new HD voice service, Telenor's customers will experience a significant quality leap in calls, which is available free of charge on most smartphones. ” - said Zsolt Sepsi, Deputy Chief Technical Officer of Telenor Hungary.

The service provider's portfolio currently includes Nokia C5-03, Nokia Lumia 620, 820, 920, Sony Xperia series members, HTC One, 8S, 8X, LG L7, 4X HD, Huawei Ascend Y200, Y300, ZTE Blade III, 3.5W, Telenor OneTouch S, Telenor OneTouch C, Blackberry Q10 support HD Audio ™ technology.
