HD-DVD vs. Blu-ray: Microsoft Chapter

Interesting information has come to light about the fight against HD-DVD versus Blu-ray.

We’ve written about the struggle between HD-DVD and Blu-ray as the two (?) Standards that replace DVD, several times, most recently Pioneer introduced it the first Blu-ray writer. Now there is news from the HD-DVD front: Microsoft would pay computer manufacturers to build drives of this standard into the machines. In addition, support for this will be free in Vista, while Blu-ray support will cost an additional 30 US dollars. It's an interesting step, in any case, it's impossible to know how much it will drag the fight towards the victory of HD-DVD. And we still remember the battle of the "plus-minus" DVDs, where sometimes one side, sometimes the other side won, but the end was just a draw. It's true, there was a problem only during writing, there was no problem with readability.
