Three generations on the same clock: HD 7850, 6850 and 5850

Hexus.net has scrutinized the high-end guns of three series. The same clocks can also highlight architectural differences.

Within the current graphics card series, AMD marks the 800 mark as a technologically advanced solution. The last two digits show performance ratios, but that’s certainly not new to our readers anymore. Hexus editors looked at how the HD 7850, 6850 and 5850 show differences at the same clocks. The test series ended with instructive results. Based on the numbers alone, the strongest solution would be the HD 5850, but due to the older construction, you can’t wear gloves with the HD 7850. It is also clear that the engineers designed the HD 6850 video card based on a very interesting approach. While in terms of performance, it doesn’t pick up the glove with its immediate predecessor in this comparison, in terms of consumption and chip size, it has excelled. Finally, we would like to make one more comment. The customer who slapped an HD 5850 anno was definitely doing well, as it apparently stands its ground even against the HD 7850 after some overdrive.

Battle of the Crysis generationsBattle of AVPgenerationsWe would like to draw the attention of our readers to two games separately. One is Aliens vs. Predator, while the other is Crysis 2. The former apparently does not fit the GCN structure, and the dice turn spectacularly in relation to the latter. Under CryEngine 3, everything is simply covered by the VGA based on the Pitcairn GPU. During Total War: Shogun 2, there was an even bigger turn than this, but we wouldn't shoot this "joke" anymore. Article titled AMD Radeon HD 7850 vs 6850 vs 5850 with the same clock speed here readable.
