We will soon be able to skinn Android phones with 3DMark

Acer, Intel, SingTel Optus and Qualcomm have already joined the development. 3DMark is now moving to a whole new operating system, which is no small challenge for developers.

Although 3DMark for Android is primarily designed to detect graphics performance, physical test sequences can also run the CPU thoroughly. The application uses the OpenGL ES 2.0 API, however, the developers say the Android and Windows results will be comparable.

Jukka Makinen, CEO of Futuremark, said he has been working with the world’s leading PC hardware vendors on 10DMark and PCMark measurement software for more than 3 years. 

Representing Intel, Shervin Kheradpir indicated his maximum commitment to 3DMark for Android Benchmark Development, and Tim Leland was pleased to be able to present the performance of Snapdragon GPUs much more spectacularly and convincingly in the future.

 

3DMark for Android is still under welding, with a release expected by the end of the year.
